 Program Description

The Study Abroad program at Charles Sturt University (CSU) offers students the ideal study and lifestyle package. The distinctive geographical location of each CSU campus is perfect for discovering the real Australia. Students can quickly immerse themselves in an Australian lifestyle within city communities, while our unique natural environment is right at the doorstep ready to explore.

As a Study Abroad student, you can choose from a variety of faculties to maximize your Australian learning experience. At CSU we pride ourselves in taking on a real-life approach to learning - offering subjects that provide hands-on experience in a supportive and accessible learning atmosphere. You can select subjects from an extensive list of classes offered through each of our faculties. Through choosing subjects distinctive to Australia you will return home enriched by your learning experience at CSU.

CSU has a network of campuses throughout the State of New South Wales, with its main campuses in the cities of Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst and Wagga Wagga. At each campus you will find a vibrant student community ready to ensure that your time is filled with friendship, support and fun. Student life is enhanced by sporting facilities, activities and clubs on all campuses and in each city location. CSU also offers a range of student services, which provide the extra assistance you may need while you're away from home.

 Student Life

Charles Sturt University has Students' Associations on each campus, which are responsible for adding an extra dimension to your time at university. It's as simple as joining one of the many sporting, course-based and general interest clubs or attending one of the many events hosted by the Students' Associations.

All campuses have a series of band and dance nights, balls, band competitions, comedy nights and international nights. There are numerous sporting events and representative opportunities as well, such as the University Games where you may have a chance to represent the university at state or national level. To complement these events, recreational courses, trips and regular campus competitions are held throughout the year.


 Location & Housing

Housing Charles Sturt University guarantees accommodation for Study Abroad students. You can live on campus in single room accommodation with a choice of catered or self catered meal arrangements. There is also the option of living off campus in a shared house or apartment with other students, or a private board residence. Student Services assist Study Abroad students with finding the accommodation to best suit their needs and budget.

Locations The twin cities of Albury-Wodonga, population 94,000, are within easy reach of winter snow-capped mountains and a wide range of sporting attractions such as water skiing on the Hume Dam and Murray River.

Bathurst, population 32,000, is just two hours drive from Sydney and offers stunning bushwalks, swimming holes and farmstay opportunities. Australia's oldest inland city, Bathurst has many fine historic buildings.

Wagga Wagga, population 60,000, proudly boasts its title as "The City of Good Sports". Along with this sporting reputation, Wagga Wagga is also referred to as "an inland cultural oasis" for its growing cultural and artistic community.
